Things Mark isn't: In his 30s; married or attached; possibly starting a family; Terrence Estero's older brother; Terrence Estero's date or spouse, very experienced at his work.
Things Mark commonly gets mistaken for: All of the above.
...It's not really his fault- he couldn't help puberty hitting him like a ton of bricks while deciding for some reason to skip his brother by almost entirely, and being responsible and serious about everything he does isn't actually a bad thing at all. It just so happens that he ends up coming across as older and more experienced than he really is, but give him another ten years and hopefully his actual situation in life will mirror what he strikes people as.
Those are his current goals, anyway. And he thinks they're good ones. The idea of settling down with someone he likes someday does appeal, as does getting better at work, and while he hasn't made too much progress on the first one (he's going to have to move out of the apartment he's sharing with his brother before anything changes on that front, after trying to bring dates home and having Terry enthusiastically not help in any way he's given up a bit there) he thinks he's definitely getting somewhere with the second. He must be, to have landed a pretty prestigious internship with Grey Labs straight out of college with the promise of a full time job with them if he does well. He thinks he'll do well. He certainly hopes so.
Which means that his life is very much on track. He kind of wishes he could say the same about his brother, though. Terry helped him a ton when he was younger and he's really grateful to him for everything he's done (though there was a phase Mark had when he was a teenager which he is VERY over with now), but his brother's still working the same club promoter job that he's had since Mark was a kid and it's not like there are a lot of long term prospects there- and on top of all that, Terry can't possibly look like he's only in his 20s forever. He's tried talking with Terry about all his concerns before, but it hasn't really worked- now that he's back from college and actually has a job of his own, though, maybe he can help out more.
That's, well... that's the idea, anyway. And he has to at least give it a try.
